$71,298.93 - $81,387.14 annually, plus a 6.6% Temporary Market Adjustment

Although this position has on-site office based requirements, it can temporarily be performed virtually due to the current extraordinary circumstances related to COVID-19.

The Next Generation Network (NGN) for K12 provides the underlying infrastructure with data connectivity and cybersecurity services to over 1,600 BC public school sites to enable students and teachers to connect with secure access to the internet and digital services.

The NGN Program supports the strategic and operational priorities of the Ministry of Education by enabling online learning and other strategic priorities, as school districts depend on reliable and secure internet connectivity to deliver the BC curriculum. The NGN team is comprised of a small team of analysts with expertise in IT service management, network design, and security that oversees the operation and governance of the NGN and special projects. 

As the Technical Business Analyst (Networks) on the NGN team, you will have the opportunity to use your business analysis and technical skills to work closely with colleagues, school district IT organizations, vendors and other government organizations to support the service delivery and operation of the NGN. You will also use your expertise in stakeholder management, be a technical lead for complex IT projects and provide technical advice to senior staff and management.

Qualifications for this role include:

Degree, diploma, certification or equivalent in computer science, data networking, or a related field.
Experience working at an analyst level in a network or security environment with security administrative privileges.
Experience coordinating the resolution of large scale network infrastructure problems with clients and vendor partners.
Experience providing technical advice and guidance to work with teams and/or managers.
Certifications related to network infrastructure (specifically routing and switching), such as CCNA, Network+.
Experience with network architecture and design, specific to layers 1 to 3 of the OSI model.
Experience with WAN technologies (MPLS, SDWAN, VLAN, Extranet, TCP/IP, VRF and other routing protocols), including troubleshooting.
