Are you passionate about safety, building positive relationships and highly motivated? If so, then we have the role for you! You will be responsible for reviewing for impacts proposed changes on overpressure protection systems and global flare scenarios for all MOC's and projects.
You will use your expertise to :
Maintain relief device database (PSPPM Administrator) and Aspen flare system analyzer (Flarenet) Models
Support execution of the management of change (MOC) and pre startup safety review (PSSR) processes in accordance with Suncor and regulatory requirements
Build strong positive relationships to collaborate with refinery departments to coordinate process safety activities
Champion the transfer of process safety knowledge to refinery personnel while continuously identifying and seeking out opportunities to promote continuous improvement
Assist in mentoring and developing process safety talent within other departments in the refinery

Must-haves (minimum requirements):
Five years in refining and petrochemical process safety systems and pressure protection and relief experience
Strong working knowledge of process safety management
In depth understanding of API/ASME and other standards and codes as they relate to Pressure Protection
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
A strong understanding of refinery processes to make sound recommendations for process safety corrective actions
Strong time management skills and can stay calm under pressure, manage priorities, and react promptly to meet deadlines with high-quality work
Effective organizational skills to prioritize and lead projects/initiatives within tight deadlines; you are highly motivated, resourceful and resilient
Alignment with our values : safety above all else, stronger together, operational discipline, curiosity and lifelong learning, and act with integrity
Highly developed analytical skills; with experience using PSPPM/Aspen/MOC /PHAST software packages
Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:
You will work out of our Denver Refinery Business Center, located at 5455 Brighton Blvd.
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs along with on call duty for emergency situations
Relocation support will be provided
